Framed Faux Oil & Canvas Back on a Faux Aluminum Easel

Series I: Easel #2 with Canvas-back #3

The canvas back and framed faux oil are all acrylic on a wooden panel.

An original wood table easel is painted with acrylic to look like aluminum.

The perspective of this piece allows for the tilt of it's easel,

with the top leaning closer to the viewer.

Free-standing Life-size Painted Cut-out

Acrylic paint on a free-standing 3/4 inch laminated cut-out wood panel,

24 inches by 60 inches. The back leg is a separate painted piece cut

from the same panel material, hinged at the top. Starting off totally

white, both sides of the panel  are entirely flat . Only the chain is real.

Trompe l'Oeil en Plein Air

(a painted illusion in the open air)

Painted entirely in the studio while looking at my 2 original plein air works

of the California coastline at San Simeon, this piece is intended to be an illusion

standing in the open air. This contemporary easel was inspired by a trompe l'oeil

easel painted in 1686 by Antonio Forbera.

Bistro Solé Restaurant

Enjoy seeing clouds in a cheerful sky or view them

through a well designed window where Venus waits

calmly among strong white pillars of stone.

This painted window and surrealistic image within it

is on the patio of Bistro Solé, a restaurant in Cambria, California.

The entire piece is painted on a cut-out wood panel that is mounted on the wall.
